To achieve its mission, the Northwest Florida CHDO focuses on creating affordable housing opportunities for populations, including but not limited to, persons with developmental and or intellectual disabilities; persons with special needs; youth that have aged out the state foster care program; survivors of natural disasters, survivors of domestic abuse and disabled veterans living in the communities of Northwest Florida.

Completed Projects

On February 15, 2016, the town of Century and its residents were devastated by a tornado that reached peak winds of 152 MPH. Homes and businesses were destroyed. Northwest Florida Community Housing Development Corporation partnered with Escambia County’s Neighborhood Enterprise Division to rebuild sixteen of those homes for Century families. The organization hired Pensacola Habitat for Humanity as the contractor and leveraged Community Contribution Tax Credit Program dollars with State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) funds to complete the project. The total Century project cost exceeded $1.3 million.
